The Annenberg Foundation is a private family foundation that provides funding and support to non-profit organizations in the United States and around the world. The Annenberg Foundation exists to advance the public well being through improved communication. As the principal means of achieving this goal, the Foundation encourages the development of more effective ways to share ideas and knowledge. Upon Walter H. Annenberg's death in 2002, his wife, Leonore, assumed leadership of the Foundation. In March 2009, Leonore died, leaving the foundation's trusteeship to Wallis Annenberg and her three adult children: Lauren Bon, Gregory Annenberg Weingarten and Charles Annenberg Weingarten. Wallis Annenberg is the Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of the Annenberg Foundation.
